This is a draft explanation of principal risks, not an exhaustive assessment or an effective contractual acknowledgement. The product remains in pre-release validation. Seek qualified advice where appropriate; reading or using this draft does not mean you have accepted effective terms.
1. Volatility
Digital-asset prices can change sharply, and an asset can lose all its value. Historical performance does not establish future returns. You may lose the full amount committed to a transaction or asset.
2. Self-custody risk
Access depends on your recovery material, passwords, device and usable backups. Halyard cannot recover a lost recovery phrase, reset the wallet password for you or retrieve a wrong-network transfer. Losing one device or credential does not necessarily mean permanent loss if you retain another valid recovery method; losing all required recovery material can.
- Lost, damaged or insecure recovery material and backups.
- Disclosure to a phishing site, malicious software or someone pretending to provide support.
- Device failure, theft or destruction without a usable backup.
- Losing the backup password or the original wallet password needed for cloud recovery.
Keep recovery material in secure places and test that you understand the recovery requirements. Optional encrypted cloud backups leave the device; deleting the app does not necessarily delete them. Never provide your recovery phrase or password to a support contact.
3. Irreversible transactions
Halyard cannot cancel or reverse a confirmed blockchain transfer. Networks differ in confirmation and finality behavior. Verify the recipient, amount, network, asset and any approval before signing; wrong-address or wrong-network transfers and malicious approvals can cause permanent loss.
4. Smart contract risk
Swaps, bridges and dApp requests can interact with third-party contracts. Contracts may contain bugs or malicious logic, and can be upgraded, paused or become unavailable. Connections through mobile WalletConnect or a browser extension do not certify a contract as safe. Token approvals may authorize later spending.
5. Third-party service risk
RPC and indexing services, swap and bridge aggregators, dApps, connection services and optional Google Drive backup can fail, change policies or experience security incidents. They can process data needed for your request under their own terms. A quoted route is not a guarantee of completion or an endorsement of a provider.
6. Phishing and social engineering
Fake wallets, impersonated support and malicious sites can seek recovery phrases, signatures or payment for supposed recovery services. Do not share recovery phrases, private keys or wallet passwords with another person, and carefully inspect what you approve.
Use this site's release status to check verified distribution links. No official download link is currently listed. Do not assume a store listing or an unsolicited message is authentic merely because it uses the Halyard name.
7. Regulatory risk
Laws, regulatory interpretations and provider restrictions can change. Availability, permitted transactions and reporting obligations may depend on location and activity. Halyard's final regional policy and legal applicability remain under review; this draft does not establish that use is lawful in your jurisdiction.
8. Operational and technical risk
Software, networks and infrastructure can experience outages, congestion, forks, reorganizations and bugs. Older devices may not support updates. A broadcast timeout can leave a transaction's outcome unknown: check its status before retrying to avoid duplicate transfers. Quotes, displayed balances and prices can be incomplete or stale.
9. Tax
Transactions may create tax or reporting obligations. Determine the obligations that apply to you and obtain professional advice where needed. Halyard does not provide personalized tax advice or file tax returns on your behalf.
10. Insurance
Halyard does not publish a verified insurance arrangement covering losses of wallet assets. Do not assume that a bank deposit scheme, a securities protection scheme or another party will reimburse a loss. Any third-party protection would depend on its own coverage and conditions.
11. Understanding the risks
Consider whether you understand these risks and can afford a total loss before deciding to use digital assets. A future acknowledgement process and its legal effect require review. Browsing this draft does not create an effective acknowledgement or waive any rights.
